Huggie
A portable luminary that can help you regulate your sleeping cycle but also to control your breath during an anxiety attack.
Prototype programmed in Arduino, modeled in SolidWorks and rendered on Keyshot.

How did this project come to life?
This product was developed through a user-centered design process that included interviews with 10 users experiencing anxiety and irregular sleep patterns, plus diary studies tracking daily energy levels and emotional states over a week. The research revealed a strong need for portable, soothing light-based tools to help users transition calmly between rest and activity, especially outside their usual environments.
Why?
Because people often need a moment of calm or grounding, especially during anxiety episodes or early mornings, even when they’re not at home.
For who?
People who want to stay productive and focused, but experience energy crashes or anxiety throughout the day.
Purpose
To help users relax before starting their day, manage anxiety when needed, and maintain a healthy circadian cycle for better energy.
Where?
Anywhere, it’s fully portable to support users in any space or routine.
How does it works?
For regulating the circadian cycle, warm light will automatically start at the set time by the user during the night to start relaxing the user, guiding it to it’s sleeping cycle, through whiter lights until a warmer orange tone, brighter light will start at the hour programed by the user in the morning to start waking up, guiding it to it’s morning cycle smoothly.
In case of an anxiety attack, the user will press the exterior button, which will lead it to the 4-7-8 seconds technique to come back to the present, the first 4 seconds you’ll see yellow, to have a warm sensation while you inhale, then pink to hold, for 7 seconds meanwhile you lower stress levels and at last, blue so the user will be able to focus on the present while exhaling.
